In regards to all the 'hoon' episodes recently I sent them an email:

I would like to thank you for generalising all car enthusiasts as hoons. You don't do articles on the car enthusiasts (sorry I forgot to use the right word, hoon) that raise thousands of dollars for charity each year, only to be harrassed by the police.

It would be prudent of you to note to viewers that most of the footage you used in a recent article are from overseas (in regards to the drifting). The video with the white S14 drifting is from Japan, not Adelaide.

You would find if you spent some time with the majority of enthusiasts you will find a positive culture that keeps youth from doing drugs or crime.

I don't expect a reply, your media group seems happy to paint all car enthusiasts with the same brush, creating a form of social discrimination against a minority that is easily targetted. I hope that you find the time (even though it won't get you ratings) to provide some articles with a semblence of jounalistic integrity. I think the day we see that, will also be the day we see pigs fly.

I guess your a little sore about someone questioning your journalistic integrity. You just showed your incredible lack of maturity and professional standards by replying that manner. You don't hate 'kids' being killed on the road, you relish the opportunity to present a biased an uninformed fairytale. Sorry you haven't developed the maturity or professionalism to reply to criticism. Good luck with your below standard story time and 'helping your average aussie battler' spins. bloody hell!! Typical of Today Tonight though. I haven't watched that show in years as i can't stand the one-sided stories or the b/s that they claim

Its a shame that so many people watch and believe the lies that come out of that show

We have channel 7 and Derrin Hinch with his show that was a fore runner to Today Tonight to thank for all of this...Its sad to see A Current Affair go down the same road when it used to be worth watching. I thought the news was meant to be subjective, not objective...

I gotta say old mate who wrote the letter intially abosolutly owned him and sounded way more inteligent than mr a current afair.

I call bullshite on the reply.

They are so self centred and arrogant about modified cars and "hoons" that they wont even listen to a reasonable and intellegent letter about the subject.

Sounds to me like they dont care if they are hurting reputations or generalising all car enthusiests into a real minority group of idiots who ruin it for all of us.
