Was the problem because the ecu uses a Serial connection?
I use serial-usb converter but it causes countless issues because im running Windows 7.

No, there was no USB driver loaded on my computer that was compatible with NIStune software. All I did was plug into the car, wait for the new software promt, and find and load the drivers that were hidden in the program file.
For someone who knows nothing of computers I think I did well to get it working.

Still waiting on these ass clowns. I have told them that if it is not completed by Friday than they are losing my business and I will not be recommending them to anyone I know. Lets see what happens now.

Well spoke to them today, expressed my dissatisfaction colorfully. The car will apparently be completed on Monday. Lets see what happens now. He assured me it would be completed.

It just puts a bad edge to something that should be enjoyable and wrecks what you are looking forward to.

Thats what I thought to. His explaination was that he keeps getting in jobs that are simple and quick so he puts mine on the back burner. I told him this was unacceptable and that he has had it now for 4 weeks. If it is not completed I will be forced to take things to the ombudsman and file a formal complaint.

I wont go to TMS. Not after the first time I did when we first met. I have not recommended them to anyone after a $1200 bill and 3 week wait for a steering rack.

I came from Darwin with the hope that I could get some serious, reliable and quality work done on the car here in Townsville. I was horribly wrong. I have not been to a single workshop that takes pride in there work, and works to a time frame, and then charge accordingly. I am not a cheap skate. I am willing to pay more for quality workmanship. But I can not understand the cost of any type of repairs in this town in comparison to the quality of work.
A quick ratio I can think of would be Quality / Price. I have observed a 4/9 ratio at almost every workshop. And that is being generous.

I am looking forward to getting back to Darwin, to my mechanic Dave who may not be the best in regards to workmanship (definately not poor though) but charges reasonably and gets the jobs done in reasonable time. The steering rack for example would have taken 1 week with parts from interstate and cost around $500. That to me is good time and pricing.

That is all.

Props to that Bob!!! Townsville is piss poor when it comes to performance shops. I have to admit though, aitkenvale did look after me fairly well

Aitkinvale looked at the car once and basically said Nup, dont want nothing to do with it. And everything I have asked them is "No, cant do it" or put in the Too hard basket

Well, the car has been dropped off at my mechanic here in Darwin. He will look at it tomorrow and let me know what the problem is. He reckons he can get an easy 180kw at the front wheels on a safe tune. Lets hope that is true.

Update. Had the car tuned for a nice 179Kwasps atw. Wound it back slightly to 165kw for a nice daily drive but the 179 is available with three clicks on the bleed valve.

Had the stock springs and new shocks put in the front for roadworthy inspection. Damn thing sits nose up slightly like an old gasser. lol. I will be putting the lows back in the front once the initial inspection is complete. After that it is easy to get them done so it wont be an issue again.

Well. Car is going OK now. Snapped the strut brace clean in half. I got it re-welded and strengthened so that should be fine. Have a Z32 AFM going on shortly to alleviate the stuttering problem and over fuelling issues I currently have. Apart from that, the old girl may be up for sale soon. I need something a little bigger and more reliable. I'm getting too old for this now.

I'm looking at a 2011 Mazda 3 MPS in Black of course. That way I will stop modding the one we already have.
