Hey all, I'm just bored sitting here at work and I thought I'd waste a bit of time talking to you all on here. On a different note I'm trying to find out how much getting a blue plate for a car would roughly cost??

Blue plate is generally $100 per code.
Example: Engine swap and transmission. 2 codes.

Could be more though, depending on how extreme the modification is. Replacement engines from the same model = pretty cheap. Completely different engine = bum rape.

well I'm thinking about getting a holden rodeo ute that someone has slipped a VR V6 into the engine bay and they tell me I just need a blue plate and it should be sweet

they r easier to get if you can show pictures of the process of the modification otherwise sometimes the person doing the plate can b a bit harsh

I had to get one at the start of last year. A little mucking about and a few tidey up things here and there but overall, it wasn't as hard as you might think. I had to get engine, turbo, intercooler, gearbox, wheels and brakes on mine and it was about 800 bucks.

Engine, poss gearbox, poss custom mounts, would need uprated brakes (usually from the model of car the engine came from)

Don't buy it. Tell him to get i tplated and a rwc, then you'll buy it.

This is the best way to do it. If you get him to do the mod plate's and RWC before buying it, you will save yourself alot of heart ache. If he wants to sell it so bad then he will do it.
