| Oh gutted, get the garage to call someone on here, or anyone you trust to pick the car up for you. Assuming you some how have access to internet, you could transfer the money to pay it off. | |

| So a new clutch/box and a roadworthy has taken 3 weeks, that should take 3 days IMO. Do your work yourself next time and work at your pace. | |

| I couldnt do it myself as I have not got the time. Id i did it myself it would have taken me about 6 months with all the work commitments ive got at the moment.
This is what happens when you put an engine and gearbox from 2 different cars into a different car again.

| Yeh unfortunately there are alot of inexperienced people that pretend they know what they are doing just so they can cash in on the modified car scene. Some workshops charge an awful lot for labour and their work is pretty piss poor. I guess its this type of industry where you have to be careful and work out who actually knows things and those who don't, because too many people will take you for a ride and in most cases you have trouble getting back what you can.
I like to think that if I want to do work to my car, I do it myself, its fun and you gain valuable knowledge about your cars build-up and also the condition it is in, some people pop the bonnet to check water washer level and they think they are modified car enthusiasts. Having a deep pocket doesn't make you and enthusiast appreciating the car for what it is and using it as you see fit is more closer to the target.
Bob mate if you need work done to your car and it isn't too technical give me a yell, i spend alot of my spare time watching tv, but love to get my hands dirty on cars that are worthwhile.
Shame that this workshop has dicked you around so much, and Im sure the guys on here would probably stay away from them aswell.

| Thanks mate. The problem was that the job was fairly big with a fair amount of custom work to get the gearbox fitted. As you know I really dont have the time at the moment to be stuffing around with the car.
Today however, I went in to Jap motors and removed the drive shaft myself and took it to Townsville CV shafts where it was made. The axle didnt snap or sheer as prevoiusly thought, the problem was that the axle itself was 30mm too short causing the shaft to pull out of CV joint. The vibration I could feel on heavy acceleration was the inner CV ball bearings running around the outside edge of the CV housing.
So today I got the new longer shaft fitted to the joint and tomorrow it will hopefully go back in the bloody car and I'll go pick it up again.

| Sweet at least you don't need to get shafts made up from unobtainium. And yeah I'm always keen on a work day, it is koscher to provide alchohol though |

| 30mm too short is a huge fcuk up IMO. These are guys you have paid to do a job, not guesstimate the situation. I wont be recommending them to anyone at all. im sure the rest of the forum members will be thinking the same | |

| Well quick update. NIStune computer is done just need tuning now. a little more power hopefully but more after some fuel economy. Need to book it in at Dynolink for the tune and while it's there I will get a walbro fuel pump and maybe injectors fitted as well. | |

| UPDATE! The car is at Dynolink. It was on the Dyno today but a few issues prevented the initial run to happen. First, he couldnt figure out how to load the drivers for the laptop to talk to the computer. I had to come home do some research and fixed the problem myself.
Next I showed him how it worked and how to load the map from the car to start the tuning process.
Hopefully he will have it completed by tomorrow so I can take her out again. I have been missing her for a long time. Hopefully it will run like it used to years ago. Fingers crossed.
